Industry Engagement Services for Higher Education

Everything We Do Is Built Around One Question:
What Does Industry Actually Need From Your Graduates?

Studium Alliance offers a connected suite of industry engagement services, all designed to help higher education institutions close the gap between what they teach and what employers are hiring for, while building the employer partnerships that strengthen graduate outcomes and global rankings.

Industry Alliances & Collaboration

The most credible skills intelligence in Higher Education. Directly from the mouths of the biggest employers. Free.

Our Industry Alliances are structured, non-profit collaborations between employers, higher education institutions and specialist consultants, producing freely accessible, employer-validated skills intelligence that universities worldwide can use to strengthen industry engagement and align their curricula.

Collaborative Team Meeting
The Problem We Are Solving

75% of Gen Z students feel their education is only slightly — or not at all — preparing them for their careers.

The challenge is not that higher education institutions fail to care about industry relevance; it is that most lack a reliable, granular and up-to-date source of intelligence about what industries genuinely require. Traditional accreditation operates at too high a level. Direct industry engagement is expensive and slow. And by the time curriculum reviews are complete, expectations have already shifted.

Studium Alliance was built to solve this, systematically, at a level of practical detail that makes a real difference in the classroom and the workplace.

How We Do It

The Industry Alliance Model:

Each Industry Alliance brings together four groups: major employers, specialist consultants and thought leaders, academic partners, and Studium Alliance as facilitator. Governed as a non-profit with industry custodianship, the process produces skills intelligence that is independently credible, practically granular and freely available to all.

Alliance Concept Diagram
How an Industry Alliance Works
  1. Workshop Design & Invitation

    • We design a rigorous engagement process and invite leading employers, consultants and academics representing the target industry. We ensure broad representation across geographies, company sizes and specialisations.

  2. Industry Engagement Workshop

    • Participants work together to document the skills, tools, technologies and professional practices that graduates must master. Additional industry specialist as constantly engaged through structured interviews, ensuring deeper industry representation. We operate at a level far more granular than typical accreditation standards, capturing what professionals actually use, not just what they are assumed to know.

  3. Data Research

    • Workshop insights are supplemented with large-scale data analysis to ensure the skills intelligence reflects broader industry trends; not just the views of a single cohort of participants.

  4. Documentation & Publication

    • The output is compiled into a structured, wiki-style skills repository and published as an open education resource. Any institution in the world can access it for free.

  5. Ongoing Maintenance

    • Industry custodians maintain and update the repository on an ongoing basis. Skills intelligence is never static, and neither is ours.

Non-Profit Governance, Industry Ownership

Each Industry Alliance operates under a non-profit governance structure, with industry custodians responsible for the objective interpretation and fair application of industry skills intelligence. This ensures the output remains credible, independent and free from commercial bias.

Higher education institutions can trust that what they receive reflects what industry genuinely needs.

Higher Education Consulting

Job interview

Expert Guidance for Institutions Serious About Graduate Outcomes.

We work directly with universities and colleges to build graduate employability strategies, conduct curriculum gap analyses and strengthen industry engagement. Our work is grounded in employer-validated intelligence, not assumptions about what industry might need.

Higher education institutions face a genuine paradox: the pace of industry change now outstrips the natural cycle of curriculum review. By the time a new programme has been designed, approved and delivered, the skills landscape has often already moved on.

Our consulting practice is built around this reality. We bring together employer-validated industry intelligence, data analysis, instructional expertise and strategic thinking to help institutions stay ahead of expectations; not just catch up with them.

Our Consulting Support

Graduate Employability Strategy

We help institutions define and execute a clear graduate employability strategy — mapping your current graduate profile against employer expectations, identifying your competitive advantage, and building a practical roadmap for closing the gaps that matter most to your students and your industry stakeholders.

Curriculum Gap Analysis

Using our Industry Alliance skills intelligence as the benchmark, we conduct a systematic review of your existing curriculum, identifying where it aligns well, where it falls short, and what practical changes would have the greatest impact on graduate readiness. The output is a clear, actionable report your academic team can work from immediately.

Industry Alignment Strategy

We help institutions build sustainable, structured approaches to ongoing industry engagement, moving beyond ad-hoc advisory boards toward systematic intelligence-gathering that makes curriculum relevance a permanent institutional capability.

Data-Driven Strategic Decision Making

We help you source, interpret and act on the large-scale datasets that inform strategic decisions; from workforce trend analysis and graduate absorption rates to skills gap mapping across specific industries and geographies.

Why Work With Studium Alliance?

Industry intelligence, not opinion.

Our consulting is grounded in employer-validated skills intelligence from our Industry Alliances. You receive actionable insight backed by the organisations that will hire your graduates; not academic theories about what industry might need.

Education expertise, not just strategy.

Our team brings decades of experience across instructional design, curriculum development, higher education management and industry engagement. We understand what is pedagogically sound and what is practically achievable.

Global perspective, contextual application.

We work with institutions across the world and draw on industry intelligence from employer networks spanning geographies, sectors and company sizes. Whatever your institutional context, we bring a perspective that goes beyond your immediate environment.

Instructional Design

World-Class Curriculum Design, Grounded in Industry Reality.

We apply over two decades of instructional design expertise to build learning experiences that are academically rigorous, practically relevant and genuinely engaging, because great curriculum is all three.

Designers Looking at the Computer

Great curriculum design is more than content sequencing. It requires a deep understanding of how people learn, what context they will apply their knowledge in, and what kinds of experiences best develop the competencies that matter in the workplace.

Our instructional design practice draws on our industry intelligence infrastructure, our academic partnerships and more than twenty years of building learning experiences across sectors and contexts. The result is curriculum that holds up in the classroom, in the assessment and on the job.

Our Instructional Design Services
  • Full academic curriculum development; from programme architecture to unit-level learning design

  • Curriculum review and gap analysis, benchmarked against industry-defined skills requirements

  • Elective, short course and micro-credential development

  • Competency-based assessment design - authentic, practical and aligned to real industry tasks

  • Case study development, drawing on real industry scenarios, challenges and decision points

  • Digital learning experience design

  • Learning games, simulations and scenario-based learning

  • Video and multimedia instructional content

  • Guest lecturer integration and industry-connected teaching design

  • Student internship programme design and industry placement frameworks

Our Approach

We work at the level of learning outcomes; not just content coverage. Everything we design is mapped to specific industry-defined competencies and assessed against real-world application standards.

We collaborate closely with your academic team throughout, ensuring that what we build is owned and embedded by your institution. Our goal is to leave you with capability, not just content.

Skills Of The Future

Preparing Students for Careers That Might Not Exist Yet.

Studium Alliance develops its own niche learning programmes for the skills the changing world of work demands most urgently. We make these available to higher education institutions to deliver to their students.

Playing with a Drone

The most pressing skills gaps in today's graduate market are not always captured in traditional academic disciplines. The rise of AI, the explosive growth of the freelance economy, and the increasing demand for applied competencies have created entirely new learning needs — needs that most existing curricula are not yet addressing.

Our Skills of the Future programmes are Studium Alliance's direct response. We develop world-class learning experiences for skills that industries urgently need and license them to higher education institutions to deliver as core subjects, electives or micro-credentials.

AI For Educators

For Lecturers and For Education Science Students

Artificial intelligence is reshaping every industry and every aspect of higher education. Institutions that act now have the opportunity to lead. Those that wait will spend years catching up.

The AI for Educators programme equips higher education institutions with the practical knowledge, tools and pedagogical frameworks needed to integrate AI meaningfully into both teaching practice and curriculum content. It is designed not as a theoretical introduction, but as a practical implementation guide for educators ready to move.

soloSei — Business Skills for the Solopreneur Generation

Prepare your students for the fastest-growing career track of our time.

Freelancing, consulting and independent work are no longer alternative career paths — they are mainstream choices for a growing proportion of graduates. Yet most higher education programmes offer little preparation for the practical realities of self-directed professional life.

The soloSei Business Skills programme gives students the entrepreneurial mindset, operational knowledge and practical skills they need to build successful careers as solopreneurs, developed from the real experiences of successful independent professionals.

How It Works for Your Institution

Studium Alliance's Skills of the Future programmes are licensed to higher education institutions for delivery to their students. We provide the materials, deliver the program and administer mastery assessments. Your institution promotes the program, facilitates enrolment, controls the student relationship and issues the credentials as part of your own academic portfolio.
