Studium Alliance facilitates structured, university-industry alliances that produce the most credible, granular and current skills intelligence available to higher education; and make it freely accessible to any institution in the world.

Employers Say:
Universities Say:
We dive in to solve this gap.

"We have a huge industry skills gap!"

"But we have thousands of graduates sitting on the bench! Employ them."

What Is An Industry Skills Alliance?

An Industry Alliance is a structured, non-profit collaboration between major industry employers, specialist consultants, and academic partners, convened and facilitated by Studium Alliance. Together, we build and maintain a living body of skills intelligence, documenting what industries actually require from graduates at the level of specific tools, technologies, applied practices and professional competencies.

Each Alliance is governed by an industry-led governing board, with representation from employers, industry consultants, and academia. Its purpose is to provide independent oversight, custodianship, and integrity assurance over how industry skills intelligence is interpreted, applied, and operationalised by Studium Alliance in support of higher education institutions. The Board does not act as an industry governing body, standards authority, or certification body. Its role is to safeguard the quality, credibility, and appropriate use of skills data generated through industry engagement and research processes.

Higher education institutions can trust that the inputs they receive reflect what the industry genuinely needs. We take one industry at a time — ensuring each Alliance receives the full focus required to produce intelligence that is genuinely useful, not superficially broad.

The Four-Party Alliance Model:

The Industry Alliance Model

Each Industry Alliance brings together four groups, each playing a distinct and essential role:

Industry Employers

Major employers and industry organisations nominate subject matter experts who help define the skills, knowledge and attributes their industry requires from graduates. They are the custodians of the content; responsible for its accuracy, currency and practical relevance.

Specialist Consultants & Thought Leaders

Industry-acknowledged specialists contribute emerging trends, future-skills intelligence and cross-sector perspectives that add depth and forward-looking rigour beyond what individual employers provide. They also provide specialist consulting and advisory services where required, in collaboration with Studium Alliance.

Higher Education Institutions

Academic partners contribute pedagogical perspective, helping us understand what is feasible to teach, how content can be structured effectively, and where the most critical gaps exist in current programmes.

Studium Alliance

We design and facilitate the entire process, from workshop design and facilitation to data research, documentation, ongoing governance and maintenance of the skills intelligence repository.

Benefits for Employers:

  • Optimise disparate higher education engagement processes (From assisting several education institutions, to contributing once with benefit to all)

  • Scale your subject matter expertise to global impact

  • Increase the quality and employability of graduates in your industry

  • Increase time-to-performance for new hires

  • Be credited as industry contributor on the content and on the certification metadata
